We were very happy that so many of our partners showed up. The international partnerships already exist mehrere years and are partly handed over to the next generation. You are for them Mehrer Compression of enormous importance and act in the service area as an "extended arm of Mehrer“. With our partner network, we ensure that we can always offer our customers optimal service directly on site. Together with the employees and the Mehrer Partners we can achieve even MORE together in the new year
In September, our two dual students Tim Decker and Kevin Fuchs successfully completed their studies and were of course taken on on October 1st. We are very proud to be able to train the specialists of tomorrow in this way and to prepare ourselves for the future!
Tim Decker studied industrial engineering (majoring in international technical sales & purchasing) and now works as a junior technical sales manager in new machine sales. Kevin Fuchs studied mechanical engineering (majoring in production engineering) and now works as a production planner in production planning.
We are very pleased that the two continue to be part of the Mehrer Compression are. The two are currently in their induction phase, receiving a lot of input, but also responsibility. We wish them both a lot of success and fun in the professional world! May we achieve MORE together in the future.
Hydrogen is the ideal fuel of the future thanks to its high energy density. Until it can be produced using electrolysers and green electricity on a large scale, thereby becoming "green" itself, it will primarily be obtained using the steam reforming process. Compressors also play a crucial role in this form of hydrogen production. But producers have to overcome major challenges depending on the ambient conditions, as is shown by the example of a TVD 900 unit designed for use in Taiwan.
In this article we explain how Mehrer organises the processes around layout, design, production and acceptance.
After a two-year Corona break, the AOK company run took place again last night in Balingen.
Our team started with seven runners. The focus was on team spirit, enjoying sports and exercise. Nevertheless, some colleagues were able to achieve their personal goals.
As always, we were able to end the evening with a cool drink.
It's nice to see how well our team works together and how important such joint events are. This team spirit is transferred to our everyday work, which we master together - with success!
World's largest high-temperature electrolyser achieves record efficiency.
In the GrInHy2.0 hydrogen project, our customer made a technological breakthrough.
In order to reduce CO2 emissions, innovative technologies for climate-friendly steel production are being introduced at the steel and technology group Salzgitter. The company is also researching green hydrogen. The company has now reached an important milestone: the plant produced 200 Nm3 of green hydrogen per hour for the first time. Our oil-free compressor plays a central role in the electrolyser and can be integrated into any container thanks to its compact and modular design. This week we received our official approval for the operation of our hydrogen filling station from the district office of Zollernalbkreis and the ZÜS (approved monitoring body). Now the door is open for other hydrogen-powered vehicles and we don't have to cover unnecessary kilometers to the next hydrogen filling station.
Our Hyundai Nexo is refueled in a similar way to a normal refueling process, only with hydrogen. In the car, the hydrogen is converted into electricity using a fuel cell. This drives the electric motor. The intermediate step with hydrogen can save the weight of a large battery in the vehicle. Thus, we at Mehrer can drive into a renewable future with green energy.
Ultimately, all that is missing is our own PV system and our own electrolyser on our premises to generate our own hydrogen.
With the slogan "join in and become an energy transition designer", our team of trainers and trainees started the campaign in the last week of November to make Mehrer Compression better known as a trainer at the surrounding schools.
The 8th and 11th grades were visited with the hydrogen car at the various schools. Each student in these classes received one Mehrer-Advent calendar, which visualizes the brand and the vision. The trainers then presented the company and our trainees proudly showed the students their workpieces. With interesting insights into everyday professional life, they aroused the interest of one or the other student to get more information.
The campaign was a complete success and the students were very happy about the visit, the information and especially the chocolate from the advent calendars. The remaining advent calendars were donated to the Balinger Tafel.
The energy transition in Germany is gaining momentum. Looking at data from the Federal Motor Transport Authority, the number of new registrations of vehicles with alternative drives is increasing every year. Compared with the same period in the previous year, this figure increased by 98,5 percent. It becomes clear that more and more of these vehicles will be on the roads in Germany in the future.
Fire departments in particular, which provide emergency services in the event of a traffic accident, are entering new territory here and must therefore be sensitized accordingly and trained in the new technology. As part of the training course held in the Zollernalb district, the firefighters were therefore instructed by their instructors in the field of alternative drives.
A real highlight for the firefighters was the hydrogen car of Mehrer Compression, which was made available as a demonstration object. For many of the firefighters, who had not had any previous contact with hydrogen-based vehicles, it was very interesting and instructive to be able to experience the advanced technology at first hand. Just like the Mehrer company, the firefighters want to remain fit for the future and are ready to take on the challenges of the energy transition.
On Wednesday, November 3, the annual trainee excursion, which is organized independently by the Mehrer trainees, took place. First of all, they went on a factory tour to the mechanical engineering company
Burkhardt + Weber in Reutlingen. The company and the manufacturing processes were introduced to them in a presentation and a tour of the factory. Afterwards, they went to Rottenburg a. N. for lunch, where they had burgers with a large portion of French fries.
Strengthened, the second part of the excursion began; bowling. Everyone had a lot of fun while bowling and when the 18 participants were divided among three lanes, everyone was a winner in the end. Finally, they drove together back to Balingen and after an eventful day were able to go into the well-deserved evening after work.
Mehrer employee supports flood victims in Blessem with her aid campaign
Wherever the flood made its way a few weeks ago, people are still busy cleaning up. Active help comes from one of our employees and their friends. Jessica Jelitto volunteered to go to Blessem with ten other helpers to provide on-the-spot assistance.
Specifically, the helpers restored six cellars and an entire house of flood victims so that people have a roof over their heads again and do not have to spend the night in the church on site, for example. For this she needed a few tons of material. Ms. Jelitto called for a fundraising campaign via Instagram and was able to collect a phenomenal € 4.200. The colleagues of Mehrer Compression have also donated a part. Furthermore, Mehrer Compression provided Ms. Jelitto a sprinter including a fuel card. This enabled her to transport the required material without any problems. Mrs. Jelitto reports that there is still a lot to do and she definitely wants to go to Blessem again and help. We find Mrs. Jelitto's action top and are happy to support her in this again.
We at Mehrer try also to make our contribution to the energy transition every day, wheather with our compressors, which among other things recover CO2, or our employees, who place great emphasis on sustainability, so that such disasters do not become more frequent.
Our specialists Armin Keller and Luis Herre were able to train customers in the Mehrer Carry out Service Academy.
They talked to our customers about the structure and functions of Mehrer Compressors, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and diagnosis. In practical exercises they were able to examine the inner workings of a compressor and overhaul a TRE 700.

After the AOK company run had to be canceled last year, the run actually took place this year, to the delight of everyone in the team. The Mehrer The team opted for the run with a track and time measurement on site in order to get a little more competition feeling.
It started on Tuesday afternoon with a clear blue sky and fairly high heat. We would like to thank the participants who did pretty well and some of them ended up in the top 10.
We are already looking forward to next year, hopefully back in town, with a lot of audience and cheers!
Mehrer achieved clarification for the US market and for six Canadian Provinces for their TVX-900 Series V-type compressors. This type represents the currently larges compressor blocks of Mehrer and is used in many applications for a broad range of gases. As all Mehrer compressors, the TVx-900 is a dry gas compressor, meaning the compression compartment is seals by dry seals so the gas does not get contaminated by any presence of oil or other lubricants. This enables applications in the growing international Hydrogen market or all application were toxic, explosive or expensive gases need to be transported or compressed.

The Energy Lab 2.0 of the Helmholtz Association deals with the numerous questions of the energy transition. The real laboratory at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) researches technologies that should help to make the energy system of the future green and sustainable.
In order to obtain essential answers, intelligent links between different energy generation, storage and conversion options need to be researched. In addition to considering the electricity sector based on green energy sources, one focus of the Energy Lab 2.0 is on the synthesis of CO2-neutral chemical energy sources such as the so-called e-fuels according to the "Power-toX" approach. Together with other companies, KIT is working within the framework of the BMBF-funded Kopernikus project “P2X” on a solution to produce synthetic fuels from renewable energies, which can then be transported and used for mobility. The Mehrer Compression GmbH will also contribute to this in the future with your hydrogen and synthesis gas compressors.
If you visit the Energy Lab 2.0 system network at KIT, you are immediately stabbed mehrere container catches the eye. These containers contain technologies that hold the key to success for the P “X revolution. Together they will form a power-to-fuel process chain. In the production of CO2-neutral liquid fuels using this process chain, our compressors are used to compress hydrogen or the so-called synthesis gas (mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen) in order to bring these gases to the required pressure for fuel synthesis or intermediate storage in a tank. The process chain in the real laboratory Energy Lab 2.0 is once more than 200L fuel raw products per day from the CO2 of air and renewable electricity.
We are very proud that we are part of this prestigious project with our compressors and that we are able to advance the innovative strength in Germany and thus make the energy transition more tangible.
In the current magazine "PuK Process Technology and Components", which is published annually by Dr. Harnisch Verlag is published, we have written a specialist article on the subject of "Additive Manufacturing". Here we describe how we use 3D printing to expand the areas of application for existing reciprocating compressors. In order to compress a large number of different gases, we can replace individual parts in the compressor architecture.
Every year they meet on the fat Thursday Mehrer- Employees to the traditional veal sausage breakfast in the coffee kitchen. But this year is unfortunately different due to the corona.
